ABOUT ME
Jordan James is a versatile artist from Richmond, Virginia, specializing in painting and fiber art. Currently serving as an intern at AuzWorks Studio in Petersburg, Virginia, James's artistic practice blends abstract concepts with portraiture to convey her personal experiences. Notable among her achievements are the portraits she painted of esteemed figures such as Board of Visitors member Charlie Hill and the Krontihene of Okuapeman, representing Ghanaian royalty. These portraits transcended mere artworks, serving as ceremonial tributes, with the unveiling of Charlie Hill's portrait taking place during the prestigious 2023 Charlie Hillfellow Induction Ceremony. The portrait of the Krontihene of Okuapeman holds a place of honor in Accra, Ghana. James's artwork has also been showcased in two Petersburg-based exhibitions: the Black History Month Show at Virginia State University in February 2023 and the Black Excellence Exhibition at the Petersburg Community Resiliency Hub.
